Our beautiful municipality is characterised by such diversity, it remains a pleasure and honour to engage with you, hear your stories and work with you on our road to growth and prosperity.
We have current realities of skills shortages and the lack of economic opportunities for our people. As we toil and sweat to secure a better future for our children, let us remember that Christmas is a time of hope.
Hope has been, through the ages, the one constant driver for real change.
May we, in all our engagements and deliberations have a vision that is fuelled by the audacity of hope even in the face of obstacles.
Let us heed the words of Nelson Mandela when he said: “May your choice reflect your hopes, not your fears”.
I anticipate with optimism that Karoo Hoogland will produce results for the Class of 2018 that we all may be proud of. I wish them well in their future endeavours and look forward to the 2019 intake of future movers and shakers of our country.
I appeal to all our citizens to be responsible during this period. Please look after yourselves and do not drink and drive. Above all else, remember the story of love and joy that brought a baby boy to the world – our deliverer, heaven’s perfect lamb, Lord of all creation.
